Janet Hovde is a healing practitioner and an artist.

 

Certified in Healing Touch since 2000, she also incorporates Chinese Energetic Medicine, guided imagery, wisdom of the body, intuitive feedback, and client education into her 1:1 healing sessions. She has had a private energy healing practice since 1998. Janet is a licensed occupational therapist with 20 years of experience in medical settings.

 

Art quilting is a way for Janet to strengthen her access to her inner wisdom. She follows her intuition with every decision in making a quilt. She has studied intuition academically as well as personally, and has taught people to access their own intuition for the past 7 years.

 

As an energy healer, Janet is interested in the intersection of art, healing, and intuition. She enjoys exploring this with her students while playng with different components of textile art.

 

Quilting is a form of prayer for her. The prayers may be in supplication, gratitude or devotion. Quilting also helps her with the listening phase of prayer, as it disengages the busy left hemisphere of her brain. For her, art quilting is deep, holy work . . . AND should not be taken too seriously!

 

Janet is a member of Minnesota Contemporary Quilters, International Quilt Association, and Studio Art Quilt Associates. While she is relatively new to art quilting, she has been teaching classes about soulful living for some time.
