Light-Filled – Spiritual Cookies

Red Petunia

Today, I am sharing three of my spiritual cookies with you.

Infusion of Love: I recently spent time with some of my extended family. They had expressed an interest in seeing my art quilts and in experiencing my healing work. I asked them to bring old photos from my dad’s growing-up years. We spent a bit of time looking at photos and lots of time talking. I spread out many of my quilts in the living room, so people could look at them as little or as much as they wanted. And then we ended up in a circle (my preferred group “shape”), with one at a time receiving energy healing. They were interested, attentive, open to receiving, and open to learning. We did one-on-one healing within the group setting. We practiced partner exercises for grounding and for noticing how our energy follows our thoughts.  We even did group distance healing for a relative in another city. I don’t believe any of them had experienced energy healing before, but they were SO open, and willing to share deep parts of their lives in this circle.

I have never in my adult life felt safe showing up so fully amongst people who share my genes. I was seen, heard, believed, appreciated, and LOVED. There was some pretty amazing healing that happened in that circle, and I think the biggest beneficiary was ME. I am still integrating what I am choosing to call my “infusion of love.”

A great book: On a lighter note, I am currently enjoying the book I Thought My Father was God, and Other True Tales from NPR’s National Story Project. These stories vary in length from one paragraph to 2 ½ pages. And they are spectacular—funny, poignant, and interesting. I’m thinking this book would be a great Christmas gift.

And, last, a poem by St. Francis of Assisi, seen at a friend’s art show:

“Wring Out My Clothes”

Such love does
the sky now pour,
that whenever I stand in a field,
I have to wring out the light
when I get
home.

Isn’t that lovely? Care to share spiritual cookies from your week?

  1. What a beautiful infusion of Love for you Janet. It’s not very often that we can say that a circle of people are so open to energy healing all at once if they were never exposed. You had a wonderful influence on them. 😉

My spiritual cookies for this week have to do with our 27th Wedding Anniversary today… we decided to get away for the weekend and tonight we decided to go and watch a movie at the drive-in. It’s been close to 3 decades since we’ve done this. I didn’t even think drive-in movie theatres still existed. lol

  2. Janet, this is a touching account of the healing you experienced. I can relate to what you say about family. At times, we are scared and that makes us aloof and distant. I am going to take a look at my thoughts….Thanks for sharing your experience.

  3. What a wonderful experience for you to have your extended family so open and willing to learn and share. Such a beautiful story.

  4. feeling the warmth of your healing circle
and grateful for the light released
…and that wonderful slice of goodness
    from St Francis of Assisi.
    thanks for the sweet share,
    Jennifer

  5. What a sweet and touching share. Oh my. You had me choked up a little! How fabulous. It is so great that you were able to get your family to experience your true calling. That is a gift in and of itself!
