My Boss was Bugging Me Today

My boss was bugging me today.  You may know that I am self-employed! So when my boss is bugging me, I don’t have far to go to reach the complaint department. I hate to admit it, but I have issues with low energy. Not all day nor every day, but I usually have a big agenda for myself and my work—and not enough energy to do all of it, as well and as quickly as I’d like.

The image that came to me today, during my “meeting with my boss,” was this: A healthy, hard-working, red-in-the-face Janet reaches the finish line of a 10K race. A hands-on-hips, finger-pointing Janet meets her there, saying, “Why didn’t you create world peace today?” Can you see why I might have issues with my boss?

Apparently, she doesn’t know any better. What to do? I think I will give her the rest of the day off.

And for those of you on the self-employment adventure, how is it going? What is your biggest challenge, and how do you handle it?

  1. I say give yourself the day off! 🙂

My biggest challenge is that I rarely reward myself when I complete something that I’ve been working on. Instead I give myself more things to do. I’m learning to stop adding more on my list and instead reward myself with something positive more often.
