Healing Touch Resources
Aromatherapy Resources
More of my favorite healing modalities
The ‘M’ Technique is a structured system of touch. I use the hand/forearm portion in my work with residents of nursing homes and in my private practice, often combining it with aromatherapy.
What I learned as Chinese Energetic Medicine is now called Yuen Energetics, in which Dr. Kam Yuen, the Shaolin Kung Fu master who was the consultant for David Carradine’s Kung Fu TV show years ago, teaches a system of identifying and quickly shifting root causes of symptoms.
Quilting Art Resources
A wonderful local group of art quilters with monthly education opportunities.
A place to find more amazing art of the quilted variety.
Cancer Resources
Gilda’s Clubs provide social, emotional and psychological support for people living with cancer as well as their friends and families, as an essential complement to medical care. Fundamental to the Gilda’s Club philosophy is that membership is completely free of charge, and that the clubhouse environment is warm, welcoming, and non-institutional. Some of my favorite experiences at Gilda’s Club: Improv for Life, Cardio Drumming, Belly Dancing, showing my art quilts and being on a healing and art panel.
This organization provides information and free mentors to work with people diagnosed with breast cancer.
A resource for information, wigs, makeovers, rides to medical appointments, etc.
Resources for the Love and Care of Older Adults
Last but not least . . .
The mission of Minneapolis Pathways is to provide resources and services for people with life threatening or chronic physical illness—as well as caregivers—to explore and experience complementary healing approaches. They “offer free holistic services for people with life-threatening and life-changing health situations who may or may not be using conventional medical treatment.”
