What do Vikings and football have in common with breast cancer?

I am a breast cancer survivor. I am also the granddaughter, daughter, niece, cousin, and mother of women who have had a breast cancer diagnosis and/or breast cancer gene mutations. That is all one part of my life. There are other, much more interesting, delightful things I am doing. During this month of National Breast Cancer Awareness, however, this disease was front and center when I was unexpectedly invited to be honored as a part of A Crucial Catch, a collaboration between the National Football League and the American Cancer Society. I was interviewed about my experience, given a tour of the Minnesota Vikings practice facility, met current and alumni Vikings, and went to my first Vikings game. I am grateful to have met so many amazing people. Oh, here is the interview.

My message to all of you: schedule your health screenings, pay attention to your body, and be your own advocate in finding practitioners who listen to you.

And, now back to my regular life, with client appointments, upcoming classes, art and craft sales, entering art shows, and ironing my newly hand-dyed pillowcases filled with healing energy (yup, they will be for sale).
